St. John's Wakitaka Classroom, Uganda: Phase One

This is phase one of the St. John's classroom installed in September, 2009. We installed used laptops donated by "Dean" and hubs donated by Keith Parsons, our supporters in the United States. Shipping was donated by Chris @ Navis (www.gonavis.com/nc1030). Keyboards, mice, power supplies, power regulators and network cable was purchased using HFC donated funds. All said, this is our most cost-effective solution, at only $50 per student.

Paraben PFIC Event, November 2008

Paraben threw an amazing silent auction and dinner even in conjunction with their first-ever PFIC confrence! They raised over $3000, enough to build an entire classroom in East Africa! We'll be installing their classroom in 2010!

Uganda May 2007

This was my first trip to Uganda. I went with my wife, and she worked in the clinic and with the child sponsorship while I worked with my team to refurb the AOET office in Jinja. This is the trip that changed my life.

Uganda March 2008

This was the trip we took as a family in March 2008. We installed the computer lab at AOET's Rehaboth School in Bugembe (using donated laptops) and handed out swag from our "Swag for Charity" drive.

Uganda May 2008

This was the trip I tagged onto the end of my trip to South Africa for a conference. It cost me $400 to fly from ZA. I met with the Minister of Energy, the Hon. Daudi Migereko who shared his need for computer classrooms in "the poorest of the poorest" schools. This album contains photos of one of those schools, which we plan to set up in 2009 or early 2010.
